Website Redesign: The Artsy Bee

Brenda Hamaker Jalaie is a high school art teacher in Zionsville, IN that has a side business, The Artsy Bee, selling her photographic images. Art shows and fairs are her main venue for generating sales, but she needed a website to showcase her work as well. WordPress is an ideal solution due to it’s free and open-source licensing and the ability to add future functionality via plugins when and if the need arises. Thus, Brenda can easily begin selling her work online by simply adding an e-commerce plugin, such as WooCommerce, to her existing WordPress website.

Most artists prefer a minimalist look for their website so that the artwork takes center stage. Cardinal Acres Web Development used the popular Atelier theme to create a minimalist website with a portfolio section to feature some of The Artsy Bee’s images. A couple of additional pages for information on the artist and an online contact form complete the site.
