The Indiana State Rifle and Pistol Association (ISRPA) needed to update their existing website to better manage their membership, communicate with their membership, and integrate with the Wild Apricot “membership management software” they were using and planned to continue to use for the foreseeable future.

Fortunately, Wild Apricot offered a WordPress plugin to implement a “single-sign-on” (SSO) solution that would ease integrating the Wild Apricot membership management with a WordPress website. This would allow ISRPA to continue to manage members via Wild Apricot while taking advantage of WordPress to be extended via plugins to handle event management, news publication, email newsletters, etc.

WordPress posts are categorized to allow filtering and display as appropriate on multiple pages of the site. This serves to both keep the site “fresh” with new content and to also allow ISRPA to easily create relevant content via WordPress posts and have it displayed in the appropriate area of the site without having to bother with editing the site’s pages.

This same focus on using WordPress posts will be leveraged to send out automated communication/marketing emails to subscribers/members. As posts are already categorized, that will lend itself to easily allowing subscribers/members to select which topics they wish to receive emails for and ignore topics which don’t interest them.
