Cardinal Acres Web Development has maintained the website for NKBA Indiana Chapter for some time. However, the site design was a hold-over from an implementation by one of the chapter’s members. The site theme had become to look dated and the back-end functionality suffered from being overly complicated for the needs of the chapter.

Like most of Cardinal Acres Web Development’s clients, the website is run by one or a few persons none of whom necessarily have experience with website design or hosting. Ease-of-use is paramount. Towards that end, we revamped the site as follows:

  • installed a custom child theme of Bridge to give the site a new minimalist and clean aesthetic
  • included a home page image slider implemented with Slider Revolution that better showcased the design talents of chapter members
  • replaced the existing event management system with a far simpler implementation: The Events Calendar and Event Tickets Plus
  • retained WooCommerce due to it’s ease of use, flexibility and integration with Event Tickets Plus
  • installed Event Calendar Newsletter Pro to automate the previously manual process of sending Mailchimp campaigns highlighting upcoming chapter events
  • installed WooCommerce Follow-Up Emails to send reminders to those who purchased event tickets and to solicit post-event feedback

The result is a website with a design that better highlights NKBA Indiana Chapter members design talents while being far easier to use.
